Ian Ashworth's
Long-Distance Walks

Some ten years ago I embarked on my first long-distance walk, the Coast-to-Coast, inspired by the words and pictures of that doyen of Lakeland walking, A. Wainwright.

In the company of a pal, Andy Goodlad, I enjoyed a thirteen day adventure that I, in turn, recorded in words and pictures.

A couple of years later I did the West Highland Way, and recorded my impressions in the same way.

I subsequently got hold of a book, "The Footpaths of Britain", and resolved to work my way through the rest of the long-distance walks of Britain.

Strange how things turn out. I've not done another one since.

So much for resolutions.

Anyway, as the long wait to take on Number Three continues, here's how the first two went.

To Andy and Janine, Suzanne and Chris, thanks in particular for your company.
